Engaging in Play

A couple of days ago, Mr. T and I were at the mall and had taken Adam to their little play area. We half-talked and observed as we let him run around/play to his heart’s content. Adam has become a very affectionate child. He always gives us hugs and kisses during departure time (IE. when dropping him off at my in-laws’, my sis’, or at the gym). Come time when we pick him up, he waves good bye and does the same to those he feels closest to. It was very interesting because while Adam knew and could clearly see that Mr. T and I were sitting down nearby, he would play then come running up to us and offer kisses, and then go back to play. Initially, it didn’t strike me as odd because as I mentioned, he’s quite affectionate. Strangely, he only did this whenever Mr. T and I were in conversation. Looking back, I believe he only wanted our utmost attention and the only way he could do that was to interrupt us by offering kisses and hugs. Whatta charmer!
Another thing happened that made me realize (confirmed) that Adam just simply enjoys playing by himself. While other kids were running around, playing tag and whatnot, he preferred to sit in the corner and play with the puzzles. When another kid came by and tried to play with him, he pushed (gently, I might add) the kid away a couple of times. I wished he had used his words, because he’s quite effective with them, I just don’t know why he doesn’t use them with other people. The final straw was when the kid leaned over and landed a big wet one on Adam’s cheek! LOL. He didn’t quite know what to make of it! He then reached up, wiped away the kiss while the kid giggled away, and got up to play in another area. It gave me a nice chuckle. It also reaffirmed that he knew better than to resort to aggression.

Snow, Snow, Go Away!
Aiyaaaah. I loved the big, white, fluffy snowflakes, but why didn’t it come in January? I was so looking forward to spring cleaning. We really need to get our garage cleaned out; there’s boxes piled high with books and papers from my college days that need to be disposed of!
Well, we haven’t heard anything from the preschool we applied Adam to. Yet. I’m just really anxious to find out that there’s been days I’m tempted to call the director up. I have no self-control! :D Well, she said mid-April. Besides worrying about this, Mr. T & I haven’t even done our taxes. You’d think that with Mr. T in accounting, he’d be on top of his game, but he’s just been putting this off due to his hectic work schedule.
Speaking of work, Mr. T has two interviews lined up with some very prestigious corporations. We remain hopeful. Mr. T is just ready to get out of the non-profit sector. I told him that if the compensation offer(s) are generous, I don’t care which job he takes, I’ll have another baby for him! I think I have baby fever. Adam’s preschool class has a separate area for infants and every time we go to school, I get so infatuated with the babies. At the gym we go to, they also have an infant room daycare, and I find myself just lingering around, watching the babies. Someone in Adam’s preschool class pointed out that I might have baby fever. *gasp* We’ll see. For all I know, I’m just going through a phase.
Adam is so much more bigger and independent now. He hardly lets me hold him like a baby anymore. :( I’m quite sad that I cannot snuggle and cuddle with him, because every time I attempt to, he tells me to “move” or “go away”. LOL.
Well, let’s hope this snow melts away soon. Or I’ll be planning my next get-away.
Rebel Without a Cause
This much I know! LOL! I had shown my brother-in-law a picture of Maddox’s hair and expressed how much I wanted to cut Adam’s hair like so. :) After work, we went to go pick him up and boy! was I in for a surprise! I love it!!!!
